Book with Kate

Kate helps women and partners work through trauma, anxiety and the emotional complexity of the reproductive journey, including birth trauma, infertility, pregnancy loss, NICU stays, and the lasting effect of being dismissed in a healthcare setting.

How I work

Motherhood can be deeply meaningful and highly activating at the same time. The transition tends to bring old wounds up with it: unresolved trauma, attachment patterns, and parts of yourself that were easier to manage before.

I integrate EMDR, parts work, nervous system regulation and other evidence-based approaches, with the aim of moving you out of survival mode and toward safety, clarity and self-trust. My style is warm, grounded and collaborative, and I pair emotional depth with practical strategies so the change holds.

A lot of what I see is not only what happened, but what your body still does about it. People can describe a birth calmly and still be unable to walk into the hospital where it happened.

What the first session is like

I will ask what happened, but only as much as you want to say in a first meeting, and I will explain how trauma work is paced so you know nothing will be forced. Most people are relieved to hear we do not start at the worst part.

Away from the work

Outside of work Kate reads fiction, spends time in nature, and unwinds with her dog, her husband and some reality television. She thinks the lightheartedness is what lets her do the deep work.

Ontario's colleges do not permit therapists to publish client testimonials, or to ask for them. Everything above is independently checkable. You can confirm any clinician's registration on the public register at ocswssw.org or crpo.ca.

You can change your mind
