Send a referral What we take
Mila Arsenijevic teaching reproductive mental health

How to refer

Give your patient our number and tell them to book the free 15 minute consultation, or email us their name and the general area and we will contact them. Either works. We do not require a formal referral letter, a diagnosis, or physician sign-off, because none of our services need one.

If you would like to know the outcome, tell your patient to say so on the call. With their written consent we will confirm they have started and let you know if we refer on. We do not share clinical content, and we will not confirm attendance without consent.

Scope

What we take, and what we'll send back.

Appropriate referrals

  • Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, antenatal and postpartum
  • Perinatal OCD and intrusive thoughts
  • Infertility, IVF and IUI distress, donor conception, surrogacy
  • Implications counselling for third party reproduction, single session with documentation returned to your clinic, usually within a week
  • Miscarriage, stillbirth, TFMR and infant loss
  • Birth trauma, NICU, and medical trauma in a reproductive context
  • Tokophobia and fear of birth
  • Perimenopause and reproductive transitions
  • Relationship strain through treatment, loss or early parenthood

Please don't refer for

  • Acute risk requiring same-day assessment. We are not a crisis service and cannot hold risk between sessions
  • Active psychosis, including postpartum psychosis, which needs urgent psychiatric care
  • Medication review or prescribing. We work alongside prescribers, we are not them
  • Custody assessments, court reports or medico-legal opinion
  • Clients outside Ontario. Our registrations do not permit it

If something arrives that sits outside our scope, we will tell the patient quickly and point them somewhere appropriate rather than holding them.

What your patient gets

The part that reflects on you.

Contact within one business day

Tatiana replies personally. Nobody lands in an automated queue at the point they finally asked for help.

A specialist, not a generalist with an interest

Seven registered therapists, all specializing in perinatal and reproductive mental health. Your patient will not spend session one explaining what a trigger shot is.

A first session inside a week, usually

Current availability is published per therapist, so you can check before you refer.

You will hear back about whether we took the referral, either way.

Working together

We're glad to be a proper referral partner, not just an address.

If you refer regularly we will set up a named contact, keep you posted on availability, and come and speak to your team about perinatal mental health at no charge. Several clinics use us as their standing referral route.

What to send

Patient name, a contact email or phone, and one line on the area. That is genuinely all we need. If there is something we should know before the first contact, a previous loss, a difficult birth, a language preference, include it and we will handle the first call accordingly.

Printable one-pager

If it helps to have something for the clinic, we'll send a single page covering what we treat, fees, insurance and how to book, sized for a noticeboard or a patient handout.

For referring clinicians

What colleagues ask us.

Do you need a formal referral letter?

No. None of our services require a physician referral, a diagnosis or sign-off. Give your patient our number, or email us their name and the general area and we will contact them.

Will you tell me whether my patient attended?

With their written consent, yes. We will confirm they have started and let you know if we refer them on. We do not share clinical content, and we will not confirm attendance without consent.

How fast can you see someone?

Consultation within two to three days, first session usually within a week. Per-therapist availability is published on the find your therapist page, so you can check before you refer.

Can you provide implications counselling for our fertility patients?

Yes. Annie Peralty, RP, provides implications counselling for donor conception and surrogacy, usually a single session, with the letter or report your clinic needs returned to them. Several clinics use us as their standing route.

What falls outside your scope?

Acute risk needing same-day assessment, active psychosis including postpartum psychosis, prescribing, medico-legal and custody assessments, and anyone physically outside Ontario. If something arrives outside scope we tell the patient quickly and redirect rather than holding them.
